How did you get started?

Jeremy and Lucy were active freelancers back in 2018. They knew though, that career consulting wasn't their thing long-term. They were craving something more impactful, something that would get them out of bed in the morning with more pull. Over what might have been their umpteenth cup of coffee at London Bridge Grind, the duo landed on a bright idea. The wine industry seemed stuck in its old-school ways, and could use a fresh take, especially for the on-the-go occassion and use case.

Their first product? Canned wine.

It was brilliant: eco-friendly, super convenient for any adventure, and frankly, it looked awesome.

Nice Drinks was born out of a desire to ditch the status quo and inject a little fun and modern twist into the wine industry. Jeremy and Lucy weren’t just aiming to start another wine brand; they wanted to challenge stereotypes, making wine approachable and doing their bit for the planet while they were at it. This wasn’t just about selling wine; it was about starting a movement, one can at a time.

Why Mimo?

Jumping into the world of wine wasn’t just about the glam and the grapes for the Nice Drinks team. They quickly ran into the less fun bits of running a business, especially the money maze. Cash flow headaches are real, stemming from large supplier orders, long customer payment terms and growth. Combined with the juggle of multiple currencies from importing from Europe, it was a lot.

That's where Mimo came in.

First off, Mimo let Jeremy handle batch payments with ease. No more long hours trying to make sure every supplier got paid on time.

Second, there was the credit option, a way for Nice Drinks to smooth out those inevitable cash flow pinch points without stalling momentum.

Third, multi-currency support. Whether they were paying for a shipment from a vineyard in France or selling cans in different corners of the globe, Mimo made it easy.

In the end, it allowed Jeremy and the team to spend more time on what mattered most—bringing their vision of fun, fuss-free wine to life.

“With Mimo, I can do batch payments in any currency, and access working capital - all in one place. Historically, I had to manage this across three tools - I save a lot of time.”
